For the second consecutive year, Union College ended Boston College’s men’s hockey season, this time in the Frozen Four. The Eagles fell, 5-4, in the national semifinals. Last year, Union won 5-1 in the East Regional semifinals.
Johnny Gaudreau, the odds-on favorite to win the Hockey Baker Award tomorrow, scored one goal and two assists.
Today’s defeat brings an end of a streak of three national championships for BC in even-numbered year. BC was national champion in 2008, 2010, and 2012, in addition to previous titles in 2001 and 1949.
Next game watch will be in the fall. :(
