Waitin’ on a bowl

The Eagles finished their 2014 regular season with a 28-7 win over Syracuse on Saturday, November 29. It was a nice post-Thanksgiving treat. Now BC waits to learn what bowl game awaits them and Eagles fans.

While quarterback Tyler Murphy ran for a below-average 20 yards in the game, it was enough to give him 1,079 yards for the season and, thereby, the ACC record for rushing by a quarterback in a season. Murphy had already exceeded the record for career rushing by a BC quarterback, held by Doug Flutie ’84.

Flutie, then-Coach Jack Bicknell, and other members of the 1984 staff and team were honored at the Syracuse game in recognition of the 30th anniversary of the team’s success, including the iconic pass thrown by Flutie to win the Miami game and his winning the Heisman Trophy that year.

Here are video highlights from the game and post-game statements from Coach Addazio and Tyler Murphy.

Several folks were new to a BC Alumni San Diego event and it was great to have them there.
